About Bayer CropScience in Australia
Formation
Bayer CropScience was established in Australia in August 2002 after Bayer Crop Protection – a pioneer in crop protection since 1892 – acquired Aventis CropScience, one of the world’s leading forces in crop protection, environmental science and bioscience. Thanks to our heritage, and Australian farmers’ heritage of innovation, Bayer CropScience has a strong local presence, with extensive and impressive product offerings in insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and seed treatments. We have pioneered many of the most important advances in crop protection and offer what is arguably the most comprehensive list of crop protection and production products in Australia.
Our goals and objectives
Our aim is to be the leader in providing innovative products and integrated solutions for the production of quality food, feed and fibre to meet the challenges of tomorrow. With development capabilities in Australia, we are committed to Australian agriculture and to providing sustainable and efficient solutions to the forward-thinking, technology-driven growers within the industry. We work with Australian farmers to innovate in Australia’s unique agricultural conditions, helping to secure our food supply now and for the future. To achieve this, we have a strong commitment to innovation and research and development – our program is one of the largest and most advanced in the agricultural world. Our workforce provides a wealth of human and scientific expertise and our global network of resources is complemented by our in-depth knowledge and experience of the Australian market.
How we operate
Bayer CropScience is focused on growing partnerships. We are committed to working with our partners to provide smart solutions to Australian farmers to grow healthier crops, more efficiently and more sustainably. By pooling our knowledge and information with the experience and understanding of the people we serve, we can all achieve practices that are environmentally sustainable as well as more profitable. This approach benefits everyone – including the wider community and the environment we share. Working together in partnership, our future growth is assured.
Our management structure creates a working environment that fosters mutual trust, teamwork and strong working partnerships. The company’s division into three distinct business groups – Crop Protection, BioScience and Environmental Science – ensures a specialised focus on specific markets to meet the individual needs of all our partners.
